It isn't a secret anymore that WWE television has been majorly down in the dumps in recent weeks, with viewing figures and ratings hitting new record lows.
So when it was revealed in the days before Tables, Ladders and Chairs a few weeks ago that Vince McMahon was returning to Monday Night Raw for an announcement, the WWE Universe were curious as to what the content of it would be.
When McMahon promised to 'shake things up' though, many expected some kind of Superstar Shake-up, but that wasn't to be the case.
It was announced on the December 17 episode of Raw that Vince, Shane, Stephanie and Triple H were all taking control of both brands, effectively consigning the General Manager and Commissioner roles to the trash cans.
Since the annoucement, it has mainly been Vince appearing in segments on television, and the ante was upped on the Christmas Day edition of SmackDown Live where he was involved in an altercation with AJ Styles.
It was a really unexpected way to close the show and a massive sign that Vince is getting involved in storylines on television.
And Rajah are reporting the reasoning for Vince being on television so much since the reveal that all the McMahons were becoming the authority of WWE once again.
According to their sources, 'Vince has always believed that the answer to slumping ratings is to bring back one or more McMahons' - so now they're all back.
Furthermore, over recent years he's preferred it if the McMahon that returns isn't him.
But viewership has dropped so drastically that Vince has felt he has no option but to freshen things up and start making regular appearances.
Considering the actions of Styles this week, you can't imagine Vince will be going anywhere anytime soon.
The storyline of all the McMahons being on TV again has to be leading somewhere though as we begin the road to WrestleMania, and we should know more coming out of the Royal Rumble next month as to where we are heading.
