Eric Bischoff has sent a warning to Cody Rhodes about All Elite Wrestling

Eric Bischoff

When Cody Rhodes left the WWE in 2016, he could not have imagined in his wildest dreams what he is about to walk into.

After stints in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling recently and joining the Bullet Club, he is rumoured to go into business with his fellow stablemates The Young Bucks and tycoon Tony Khan, who is involved with NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars.

Trademarks were filed last month for All Elite Wrestling, and there's bound to be significant interest with the likes of Rhodes being involved.

Of course it's not easy running a wrestling promotion or being in charge of the money that comes with it - just ask Eric Bischoff.

Bischoff was at the forefront of World Championship Wrestling in their ratings war with WWE in the 1990s, becoming the Executive Vice President before things went awry, and then years later Vince McMahon brought Bischoff to WWE as the General Manager of Raw.

Eric is impressed with what Cody and the Bucks are doing and where they have brought their brand from, but he's also warned the trio about their trip into the promoting industry.

"What's really cool about it is they did it without television," Bischoff said to Christy Olson, per WrestlingInc, regarding their special event 'All In'.

"That is what's mind boggling. From a guy who's grown up in the wrestling business who couldn't imagine being involved in the wrestling industry without a solid TV platform underneath you, these guys go out with their own money and prove everybody wrong."

The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes are set to unveil their new wrestling promotion, AEW, in the near future.

"They're in a zone right now," Bischoff continued. "It doesn't come easily, it doesn't come often but they're there.

"Be smart, go slow, don't let it go to your head, trust me. Go slow and always surround yourself with people you absolutely trust."

You'd like to think Bischoff learnt some harsh lessons when in charge of WCW, so maybe he can be the man that Rhodes turns to if he ever needs any help or advice with the soon-coming All Elite Wrestling.

The coming weeks should see more news emerge about the company and the status of wrestlers joining, so stay tuned to GiveMeSpot for the developments.
