With Vince McMahon returning to television and the McMahon family now effectively running both Monday Night RAW and SmackDown LIVE, the extent of the declining ratings speaks volumes.

A lot seems to be changing moving forward with NXT stars being called up thick and fast, Vince himself is sticking around on television and the company has also finally announced the introduction of the women's tag team titles.

CHANGE

However, another big announcement saw John Cena's return being revealed.

Recently, the Bumblebee star and the 16-time world champion has lost back-to-back contests against current WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan.

At the moment, it's not clear just which storylines Cena is expected to feature in on either show, but Cageside Seats is reporting that Vince has an interesting idea of promoting Cena when he's officially back on television in the New Year.

Although there's no official ruling on who the greatest of all time truly is as fans critics alike will all provide different names.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan - the list goes on.

Despite that, the source is claiming that Vince plans to promote Cena as the greatest of all time moving forward.

GREATEST OF ALL TIME

Although that label is up for debate, on the surface it seems like the greatest of all time tag on Cena is being placed there so they can bill him as a special attraction, primarily because he won't be around forever so this could be the fans' last chance of seeing arguably one of the best ever to do it in action.

It could backfire, though, as the assumption has always been that Cena will return time and time and time again to help put over the younger, up and coming talent that could make a real splash on the main roster or needed a storyline to help propel them to that next level.

The downside to that, however, could be that the greatest of all time label Vince plans to put on Cena could diminish significantly depending on the feuds Cena features in and who he loses against.

While there have been rumours of a rematch against The Undertaker, it remains to be seen what the WWE and Vince have planned for Cena's return.
