Steven Gerrard managed to come out on top in his first Old Firm derby at Ibrox.Rangers went into the game knowing that a win would see them move level with Celtic in the Scottish Premier League. And, they managed to do so by completing a hard-fought 1-0 win.Ryan Jack scored the only goal of the game, netting with half-an-hour played after some good work from Ryan Kent.Rangers had multiple opportunities to extend their lead, but were constantly thwarted by an inspired Craig Gordon. But it did not matter as Rangers held on to claim a valuable three points. As always, the Old Firm derby was played with an abundance of passion. And one moment in the first half summarised the rivalry between the two teams perfectly.A drop ball was given in the first half and Scott Brown and Scott Arfield were the two players chosen to contest it.And, when the referee dropped the ball, both players just kicked out wildly in an attempt to get the ball.Watch it below:

Arfield eventually came away with it, but credit must go to Brown for not complaining to the referee.

Football fans that witnessed the duel enjoyed the little battle between the two.

Gerrard commented after the game that he believed his side were the better team.

"This moment is all about the supporters," he said, per the Metro. "They’ve been through a lot. They’ve been punished in these fixtures recently so this is all about them.

"The players were outstanding across the pitch. We were better to a man. We could have made it more comfortable but it was a good result. We were superb.

"There’s still a lot of work to do. Celtic are a good team with a good manager. We can still improve and grow and we will."
