Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton has named his most memorable fights of 2018 from all over the globe.

At number 5; Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin - 22/09/18.

In what was one of the biggest night in the British boxer's career, Joshua had to defend his four heavyweight belts in front of a home crowd at a packed Wembley Stadium.

The fight wasn't all easy going for the 29-year-old, as Povetkin proved to be a tough challenger, but it wasn't enough to overcome the heavyweight champion, who delivered the decisive knockout blow in the seventh round.

Showing that Joshua was the real deal in the heavyweight division, he successfully took down yet another top-class opponent.

At number 4; Callum Smith vs George Groves - 28/09/18.

The undefeated Callum Smith carried on his run of dominance as he claimed the World Boxing Super Series super-middleweight division title, with a victory over fellow Englishman George Groves.

Smith, who was the underdog going into the fight, put in an impressive performance and finished the bout with a forceful knockout punch in the seventh round, and took the belt off the reigning champion.

Groves had defeated Chris Eubank Jr in the build-up to the final, but the power of the 28-year-old proved to be too much for him.

At number 3; Josh Warrington v Lee Selby - 19/05/18.

A full Elland Road saw homegrown Warrington take down defending champion Selby and claim the IBF featherweight title.

Leeds born Warrington took Selby the full distance and was crowned champion after a split decision in his favour.

Selby, who was the favourite going into the clash, was under pressure from the early rounds and lost his title after a remarkable performance from the challenger.

At number 2; Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder - 01/12/18.

A blockbuster fight that was being watched around the world as two heavyweight giants met inside the ring for what was expected to be a fiery affair.

Fury made his return to the biggest stage after a three-year spell out of the sport due to many issues in his personal life, and he bounced back with a battle against one of the world's best boxers in Wilder.

A gripping battle which saw some heavy blows left all watching on the edge of their seats.

It all looked to be over once Fury crashed to the floor, but he defied all odds and rose to his feet to finish the 12 rounds.

The battle ended in a controversial draw, leaving everyone waiting for a rematch.

At number 1; Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez v Gennady Golovkin - 15/09/18

Hatton named the rematch between Alvarez and Golovkin at top spot for fights in 2018 after a thrilling encounter.

The rematch was scheduled after the first fight between the two ended a draw in 2017.

Neither fighter hit the canvas at any stage in the fight as it went the full distance again, the Mexican Alvarez, however, got the majority decision this time around, and claimed victory, much to the frustration of Golovkin who felt he had won the fight.

The Mexican was picked up by his team and waved his nation's flag high in air before gesturing for his Russian opponent to be quiet.
