Becky Lynch has arguably been the biggest breakout star in the WWE in 2018, so it comes as no surprise that John Cena is working with her on the first SmackDown episode of the new year.

WWE taped 2019's first episode of SmackDown this weekend, and it will be broadcasted out on New Year's Day next week, allowing the superstars involved to spend time with their families while the show takes place.

During the show, via NoDQ, Cena had a promo with Lynch and was involved in a tag team match alongside The Man as well against Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega. Spoilers ahead for SmackDown on January 1, 2019.

Prior to the match, Cena came out for his return promo but was interrupted by Lynch. The Man then proclaimed that she wasn't just taking Charlotte Flair off WWE posters but Cena as well, before adding that Nikki won't be the only woman to drop him if he had a problem with it.

The two then tag teamed and won in a match against Almas and Zelina. Cena hit Almas with his finishers but Becky threw him out of the way to achieve the win for their team.

As they exited the ring and made their way up the ramp, Becky mocked Cena with his own "You can't see me" taunt. What a way for The Man to kick off the new year!

The Man looks set to be starting 2019 off strong, and it's expected to only get better for her as the year goes on.

Many reports have stated that Lynch is expected to a part of the first-ever women's main event at WrestleMania 35 against Ronda Rousey in what could very well be a feud and match of the year candidate.

Becky is expected to book her spot in the main event at The Showcase of the Immortals by winning the women's Royal Rumble, which takes place on January 27.

She could be pulling double duty that night as well, as she could be having a rematch against Asuka for the SmackDown Women's title at the Rumble too, the title which she lost earlier this month at TLC.
