Roman Reigns hasn't been seen in the WWE since he announced on Monday Night Raw in October that he had been diagnosed with leukaemia and that he would be taking time away from the business to receive treatment.

The last image to date that fans have of The Big Dog in the WWE is when he united with his Shield brothers in Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to perform their iconic fist bump salute on the stage following his announcement.

It was an emotional time for The Architect as he was in tears following Reigns' announcement, but he has recently provided fans with some promising news on Roman's battle against cancer.

Speaking to Fox 2 News, Rollins revealed that Reigns' battle with leukaemia was going great and that he hopes The Big Dog is able to make a return to the WWE sooner rather than later.

Rollins said, via Wrestle Zone: “Roman’s doing great. Obviously, he spent the holiday home with his family and he’s doing really good. He’s in a good position.

"He’s primed to make a comeback, hopefully sometime sooner, rather than later, but at the end of the day, he’s just focused on getting healthy right now. I will say he’s doing good, good spirits.”

It's unclear as to when Reigns will be back performing in the WWE. While many will be hoping it's soon, it's important that he puts his health first before the fans. Fingers crossed he returns at some point in the new year.

As for Rollins, 2019 could be a big year for him after he had what many might consider the best year amongst all male superstars on the main roster in 2018.

The Architect started the year off having to rebound from losing two tag partners to injury in Ambrose and Jason Jordan, as well as having multiple plans change for his WrestleMania match.

He was then part of a brilliant triple threat that saw him win the Intercontinental title, before he was dominant in a two-hour Gauntlet match where he competed for over an hour.

Rollins then squared off against Dolph Ziggler in a long feud over the summer before starting a rivalry once more with Ambrose.

At the moment, he's still involved in a feud with his former Shield brother, who he lost the Intercontinental Championship to at TLC earlier in December.

As for 2019, current rumours have stated that The Architect could be booked in a match against Brock Lesnar at this year's WrestleMania, potentially for the Universal Championship.
