WWE fans who will watch the first SmackDown of 2019, as John Cena will be featured on the blue brand's first show of the new year.

WWE taped the first SmackDown of 2019 on Saturday at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, but it won't be broadcasted on television until January 1. The taping allows the superstars involved to spend time with their families while the show takes place.

On the show, Cena was involved in an in-ring segment with Becky Lynch and later teamed up with The Man in a mixed tag team match against Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega. Spoilers ahead.

Ever since Cena decided to take more time away from the WWE throughout 2018, he hasn't been keeping his traditional military-style haircut, and has instead been allowing his hair to grow out.

Many fans have mocked the 16-time world champion for his hair throughout the year, as his hairstyles have struck a resemblance from time-to-time to fellow WWE legend John "Bradshaw" Layfield.

During the SmackDown tapings on Saturday, however, Cena's hair looked outrageous and was all over the place by the time he had finished his match alongside Lynch against Almas and Vega.

The Leader of the Cenation gave a funny explanation on Twitter as to why his hair was so ridiculous that night, blaming it on the electricity provided by the fans inside the arena at the time.

He said: "What’s up w the HAIR?! @WWE I’ve tried to tell you! It’s the electricity of the โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Š! 1.21 Gigawatts! 2nite #WWETampa will 100% understand as the โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Š invades the home of the @TBLightning ! @AmalieArena U ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘€ME! But U CAN feel the๐Ÿ’ฅof the โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Š"

Lynch had posted the exact same picture hours earlier but with no comment, meaning she was possibly poking fun at Cena for his crazy hair.

Before their match took place, The Leader of the Cenation came out for his return promo but was interrupted by Lynch.

The Man stated that she wasn't just taking Charlotte Flair off WWE posters, but Cena as well. She then said Nikki won't be the only woman to drop him if he had a problem with it.

The two then tag teamed and won in a match against Almas and Zelina. Cena hit Almas with his finishers but Becky threw him out of the way to pick up the win for their team.

Before they exited up the ramp, Becky then mocked Cena with his own "You can't see me" taunt, leaving The Leader of the Cenation confused as the segment ended.
