Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has called out Jon Jones after a series of positive drug tests.

The incident between the two took place after UFC 232, where Jones had successfully defeated Alexander Gustafsson to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight title.

In the aftermath, Jones did an interview with UFC Tonight, and that included Bisping.

According to Bisping, who has since spoke about the incident, a question he asked whilst off-air didn't go down well with Jones.

Bisping has defended his decision to confront Jones on his suspicious drug test results, as he said on his podcast: "I don’t care about asking difficult questions, and I asked Jon Jones some questions, which apparently he didn’t like, because after the fight…we interviewed him again, and when we were on commercial break he was talking f***ing shit.

"To whoever the powers may be were at FOX, he [said], ‘Is that motherf*cker Michael Bisping going to be asking questions again, with his f*cking dumb sh*t,’ and all this and I was like, ‘Ohhh yeah.’”

He went on to address his lack of confidence in the American to pass his drug test.

“Here’s what we never spoke about: he tested positive in August, he tested positive in September and he tested positive in December.

"Now they’re saying that they are metabolites and they’re saying the presence of Turinabol can stay in his body for a long time.

"So, if you put that all together, he’s probably going to test positive after fight."

The Englishman was clearly angered at the way Jones has conducted himself, he believes that the Swedish fighter Gustafsson has the right to overturn the result of the fight if Jones is tested positive for drug use again.

“So, I said, ‘Jon, has there been any discussion as to what happens if you test positive after the fight?’

"'Because I’ll tell you what, if I’m Alexander Gustafsson and you stopped me in the third round, but the motherf*cker tests positive…and I don’t care how many small pinches of salt it is in an Olympic sized swimming pool…I want that overturned to a f*cking no contest because you’ve tested positive after the fight'."

Bisping has pleaded his innocence amongst the drama as he claimed he was only doing his job.

“He said, ‘Well, you know, I’m just looking forward to this fight, this fight’s going to be great and blah blah blah—he just totally ignored the question,” he said.

“So then I went back at him again, I slightly reworded and once again he ignored it. You could see he wasn’t happy.

“I wasn’t trying to be a dick with Jon,” he said.

“I love watching Jon Jones fight; he’s incredible. I’ve been around him enough during my fight career and Jon’s always been cool with me. I’ve always liked the guy, but being in that position that we’re in, we’ve got to ask those f*cking questions.”

It's hard not to agree with Michael Bisping, if Jones is once again found to have drugs in his bloodstream after the fight, he should have the result of his fight overturned.

UFC will have to respond to these comments from Bisping, with doping in the sport being the last thing it needs as it tries to continue its growth.

This will be made significantly harder if the integrity of the competition is put into question.
