The heavyweight boxing division is arguably the most competitive and enthralling in all of boxing due to the trio of Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua. The boxing community were glued to the screen last month for the first professional fight between any two of the ‘Big 3’ when Fury and Wilder battled it out in an entertaining contest marred by controversy. The 30-year-old Fury controlled most of the fight, using his trademark slick movement to avoid Wilder’s big shots, however, in round 12, Wilder connected with the Gypsy King, putting him on his back to which the Brit, against all odds, picked himself back up from.Despite the knockdown, many experts had Fury down as winning the fight comfortably, however, Mexican judge Alejandro Rochin scored the fight 115-111 in Wilder’s favour leading to a split decision.Fury’s refusal to give in and pick himself from the canvas exemplifies his impressive attitude and mental toughness throughout his career. This is highlighted through a video uploaded by Fury’s trainer Ben Davison, showing the positive and unique atmosphere in Fury’s dressing room ahead of his fight with wilder. This year promises to provide another spine-tingling year within the heavyweight category as Fury and Wilder are all set to face off again at some point with the victor likely to face Anthony Joshua.Watch Fury in his dressing room in the video below.

Joshua himself, who this week has been pictured alongside Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo, will most likely have a fight against Dillian Whyte to look forward to with April 13 to be the rumoured date.

Whyte, whose only defeat was at the hands of Joshua, required 11 rounds to defeat Dereck Chisora last month in an impressive display to set up a rematch with AJ at Wembley, but only if the two parties can agree terms.

There’s no doubt that we’ve got a lot to look forward to in the heavyweight division in 2019.
