Jurgen Klopp made nine changes to the Liverpool side that lost to Manchester City for their FA Cup trip to Wolves.

Only James Milner and Dejan Lovren kept their places in the starting line-up with 17-year-old Curtis Jones and 18-year-old Rafa Camacho being handed starts.

However, within six minutes, 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever was being readied.

Lovren picked up what appeared to be a hamstring injury and Klopp threw the young Dutchman into the firing line.

Imagine making your professional debut for Liverpool in the FA Cup as a 16-year-old with the game already six minutes old.

It was never going to be easy for the former Ajax man, who became Liverpool’s third youngest ever player.

But Hoever performed admirably at Molineux, despite Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat.

Playing alongside Fabinho at the heart of Liverpool’s defence, Hoever showed confidence and composure far beyond his years.

He always looked to pass forward into midfield and didn’t look scared to get on the ball to build attacks.

And it was something that Liverpool fans certainly noticed and discussed on social media.

Check out the reaction on Twitter:

He may still lack the experience, strength and ability to play at the top level, but he's certainly got the confidence and composure for someone so young.

Hoever has been training with Liverpool’s first-team recently and, earlier this week, Klopp spoke about his incredible potential.

"If Joel and Joe would have been fit all of the time, then probably Ki-Jana wouldn’t have been in training with the first team," Klopp admitted, per the Mirror.

“But he was in and he is still in. He is for sure for the future of the club, but when the future starts I do not know.

“He is in, though, and he learns a lot and improves a lot – it will happen automatically. It is a nice prospect for the next months and years. Wolves? I don’t know yet, we will see.”
