Isco isn't exactly enjoying his football at Real Madrid right now.

The incredibly talented midfielder has been limited to just two starts since Santiago Solari was appointed manager, leading to a number of controversies in recent weeks.

Sport reported that Isco shouted: 'What do you want?' to fans during the 3-0 defeat to CSKA Moscow and questions have been raised about his attitude behind the scenes.

Nevertheless, the manager has remained complimentary about Isco to the press and noted last week: "Isco has given us a lot of joy and he has to keep doing that.

"He's a magnificent footballer and, now that we have lost Marcos Llorente, Javi Sanchez and Mariano, we're going to need everyone."

Real Madrid vs Leganes

"Every player here has to be committed, dedicated and keep working with hope and excitement; they are all fundamental to us."

However, Isco's frustration at the Bernabeu can only have grown when he found out he was going to be dropped for the Copa del Rey clash with Leganes.

Although the La Liga side are certainly no pushovers, it marked a clear opportunity for Isco to get some more minutes under his belt but Solari was having none of it.

Isco's Twitter activity

Players like Vinicius Junior, Lucas Vazquez and Karim Benzema were favoured in attacking areas and it seems Isco wasn't too happy with the decision.

That's based on his Twitter activity anyway, with the 26-year-old 'liking' a tweet that criticised Los Blancos, before quickly reversing the decision just moments later.

When you're that high-profile on social media, though, you simply can't take get away with moments like that and fans swiftly took screenshots of the post.

Isco was seem liking a tweet that read: "He [Solari] has picked Dani Caballos [sic] and a Casemiro who's in bad shape, and even though he retired 20 years ago he'd pick himself before Francisco Alarcón Isco."

Tut, tut, tut.

Of course, there's a chance that Isco 'liked' the tweet by accident, but the remarkable specificity of the post inevitably raises eyebrows.

It makes you wonder whether Isco was, at the very least, checking up on posts about him before the Leganes game and accidentally struck the 'like' icon.

It seems like he amended the decision quick enough to make an appearance during the game, though, coming on to a mixed atmosphere at a half-empty Bernabeu.

Real had already extended a comfortable lead and goals from Sergio Ramos, Vazquez and Vinicius secured progression to the next round.

The future of Solari could play a huge role in Isco's decisions going forward but two starts since October suggests his patience could be running thin.
