Kyle Walker might be one of the best right-backs in Europe, but he's not exactly world-class when it comes to goal-scoring.

Of course, finding the back of the net isn't exactly in Walker's job description but the man himself would admit he needs to score on a more regular basis.

The England man has bagged eight goals across his career and with a grand total of two, he has managed to equal his tallies from 2010-11 and 2011-12 this season.

Despite his lack of goals, though, the 28-year-old still has an incredible strike in his locker and he broke his duck for City with a superb finish against Newcastle United.

And like London buses, you can wait ages and then two come along at once, give or take four months.

Man City 9-0 Burton

That's because Walker bagged his second goal for the Citizens during the 9-0 annihilation of Burton Albion on Wednesday night, as City all but booked themselves a place in the Carabao Cup final.

Gabriel Jesus helped himself to four goals on a manic night at the Etihad Stadium, with Riyad Mahrez, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Oleksandr Zinchenko also appearing on the scoresheet.

In terms of Walker's finish, it wasn't one of the long-range strikes that graced his time with Tottenham but a smart right-footed finish past Bradley Collins.

Walker's brilliant Instagram post

And Walker couldn't help celebrating the occasion on social media after the game.

The City man has earned a reputation for his witty posts on Instagram and Twitter, so football fans knew they were in for other one on Wednesday night.

Walker certainly delivered and this time he had a message for none other than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Well, kind of. In an amusing Instagram post that included a video of the goal, Walker noted that he has outscored Ronaldo in 2019 and has more Carabao Cup goals than Messi.

Check out the post down below:

Brilliant stuff.

Of course, the fact Ronaldo hasn't played this year and Messi has a grand total of 0 appearances in the League Cup somewhat derails his caption.

That doesn't make the post any less funny, though, and it's no surprise that over 100,000 football fans 'liked' the upload within a matter of hours.

If Walker can continue to produce goals from full-back, he could add an aspect to his game that would further establish himself as one of the finest defenders in the Premier League.

And if an Instagram post of equal comedic value comes out with every goal, then the more Walker strikes the better.

The return leg against Burton will certainly present a good opportunity for him to add to his tally and barring a miraculous performance from the Brewers, it could be another rout.

Something tells us that Ronaldo might have overtaken Walker by the time that happens, though.
