When Ole Gunnar Solksjaer took over from Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, it quickly became clear that things were going to change.

Results have improved, with the Norwegian guiding his side to five wins from their opening five games, and they'll look to continue that 100% record against Tottenham this weekend.

Not only have United been winning, but they've been doing it in style too, scoring 16 goals and conceding just three since December 22.

It appears that Solskjaer has changed the culture at the club, and players have gone from looking glum under Mourinho, too optimistic under his leadership.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku are all enjoying their football again, and the goals have been flowing.

What's interesting, is that Solskjaer apparently set that tone from the moment he arrived at Old Trafford to take over as interim boss.

That's according to the Telegraph, who have published an insight into how he brought the feel-good factor back to United, beginning at their Christmas Party in December.

PARTY TIME

"The tone was set on his first day in the job," the Telegraph writes.

"Jumping at an invitation to attend the club’s Christmas party at Old Trafford cricket ground that night, the 500 staff present had no idea Solskjaer would be attending and began serenading him with his song when he was invited on stage by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward."

Not only did he make a surprise appearance at the party less than 24 hours after arriving, but Solskjaer also had a 12-word message for his staff and players - which sums up his philosophy.

"Addressing a jubilant crowd, Solskjaer told them it was his and the team’s duty to put smiles on their faces and that "'if you can’t enjoy yourself at United, where can you enjoy yourself?'"

CARRYING THE MESSAGE

Five games into his tenure and that message looks to have been carried pretty well by his players so far.

But, it will be interesting to see just how much United enjoy their football once the really tough tests start this weekend.
