What will happen to Callum Hudson-Odoi this month?

Chelsea are still considering Bayern Munich’s £35 million bid for the 18-year-old - a fee that would make him the most expensive English teenager in history.

According to The Times, Chelsea are demanding a buy-back clause for the youngster - something the Bundesliga giants are reluctant to agree to.

Bayern has made no secret that they’re interested in the winger with the club’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, saying on Wednesday that Hudson Odoi “is a very interesting player whom we really want to sign”.

But those comments have irked Maurizio Sarri it seems.

“I think it’s not professional, because they are talking about a player under contract with Chelsea. So they didn’t respect our club,” the Chelsea boss said, per the Guardian.

But what will Hudson-Odoi do?

He’s no doubt thinking long and hard about following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and trying to make a name for himself in Germany.

But current Bayern winger, Arjen Robben, has tried to make Hudson Odoi’s mind up for him by sending him a clear message.

Robben - who also previously played for Chelsea - has given an interview to beIN Sports saying: “He is one of the best (young players) in Europe. You are better off getting your chance and if you get that chance then you have to take it.

“For young players, it’s always the same. First, you have to take the big step to achieve it. Become a professional football player at the highest level, get into the first team, get your place.

“Then, second, which can be more important, what’s sometimes missing is that you have to stay there. Staying there is often more difficult than actually becoming a footballer in the first place.

“You have to prove it, game after game, season after season and don’t be happy. Don’t just be happy when you achieve something little or small.”

It sounds very much like Robben is urging Hudson-Odoi to quit Chelsea and join Bayern.

Whether Hudson-Odoi will heed Robben’s advice and make that move remains to be seen.
