Given the drastic transformations of most Tottenham players masterminded by Mauricio Pochettino, it’s only natural to see these stars have garnered interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

Real Madrid’s reported interest in Christian Eriksen has been the talk of the town so far this transfer window. However, Spurs have remained firm thus far, slapping a €250 million asking price on their Danish magician.

It appears the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer has hit Real hard – though, this is hardly unexpected.

Santiago Solari’s men are currently fifth in La Liga, ten points adrift league leaders Barcelona. The side have won just nine of their 18 league games so far this season, and fell victim to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad in their last domestic outing.

It’s safe to say that something drastic needs to be done to turn their fortunes around.

In pursuit of replacing the goalscoring void left by Ronaldo’s absence, the club have now turned their interests to another Spurs star: Harry Kane.

Kane, himself, is the joint-highest goalscoring in the Premier League this season alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, each managing 14 goals so far.

Madrid previously registered their interest in Kane’s services a few summers ago. Although, the Englishman’s stock has certainly grown since then.

Also bearing in mind the ever-inflated transfer market, this means that the Spanish club will likely have to fork out the big bucks.

And boy, are they big…

According to AS’ Tomas Roncero, a senior executive at Real Madrid held talks with Spurs officials over a move for Harry Kane before Christmas, to which the club set a staggering €350 million asking price for the striker.

This means that Real Madrid will need to obliterate to transfer record set by PSG in their €220 million acquisition of Neymar.

Madrid, of course, are no strangers to breaking transfer records, having broken the record fee twice in their pursuits of Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Although, some would argue the club are well-overdue another ‘Galacticos’ signing.
