Wijnaldum's cheeky gesture to Duffy

But Brighton became agitated when they fell a goal behind and let their frustration out on referee Kevin Friend.

It was all too much for Shane Duffy when, in the fifth minute of injury time, he was penalised for a handball.

Duffy reacted by punching the turf in anger, to which Georginio Wijnaldum decided he would teach him the specifics of the handball law.

Wijnaldum cheekily pointed to Duffy’s bicep, the part of the body where the ball struck the Brighton defender.

Love that, Gini.

Liverpool avoided a third straight defeat thanks to Salah’s 17th goal of the season.

The fact that the Egyptian forward managed just 13 touches in the first half shows just how difficult Brighton made things early on.

But Liverpool kept on going and got the reward that their possessional dominance warranted.

It was the result that epitomises a proper champion.

Klopp praised his players for their "unbelievably mature" performance afterwards, per BBC Sport, and he's right.

This proved to be an awkward fixture for the Reds but one that they came through unscathed.
