Liverpool are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League once again.
With Manchester City not playing Wolves until Monday night, Jurgen Klopp’s side had the perfect opportunity to bounce back from two consecutive defeats.
Liverpool lost to title rivals City before their FA Cup loss to Wolves.
But they went to the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon and came away with all three points thanks to Mohamed Salah’s penalty.
It was always going to be a tough 90 minutes with Brighton’s impressive home record this season.

But Liverpool fans won’t care one bit how their three points came about.
They did, however, have to hold on at the end of the match.
But with Virgil van Dijk marshaling the back-line, they never really looked like conceding.
Liverpool have now conceded just 10 goals in their 22 league games this season and Van Dijk deserves a lot of credit for that impressive record.
In the 90th-minute against Brighton, Van Dijk showed his leadership ability.
Liverpool were defending their lead and the Dutchman could be seen screaming at young right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to get in the right defensive position.
Van Dijk was there for 15 seconds trying to get Alexander-Arnold’s attention - which he eventually did.

It was just yet another example of Van Dijk’s influence at the back.
Liverpool now have a week to prepare for their next fixture - a home class against Crystal Palace before travelling to Leicester the following Tuesday.
And they can be safe in the knowledge that they will enter February top of the table whatever happens.
