Cristiano Ronaldo is proving to be a revelation in Italy.

That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who has watched Ronaldo throughout his career.

But it’s still been impressive to see Ronaldo shine in another league.

The 33-year-old has scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Old Lady, proving to be worth every penny of the £99.2 million that Juventus paid for him.

And his value is heightened even further by Real Madrid’s struggles without him.

Despite the Ronaldo v Lionel Messi rivalry coming to an end by the former’s departure from La Liga, the feud between their fans remains intense.

One Messi fan has tried to expose Ronaldo on Twitter by creating a Twitter thread on the 10 times he has let his teammates down.

Messi fan's thread on 'letdown' Ronaldo

It features Ronaldo fluffing his lines for Portugal in the final of Euro 2004; the moment he disrupted Gonzalo Higuain when the striker was about to score; and the time he made himself Portugal’s fifth penalty taker against Spain at Euro 2012, a decision that backfired.

Scathing stuff.

Of course, there have been many, many times when Ronaldo has saved the day for his club or for Portugal.

But it’s good to see that the Messi v Ronaldo rivalry lives on among the fans.

It’s an almighty shame that we no longer get to see the two best players of the modern era go head-to-head in La Liga anymore.

Their battles were always fascinating.

Here’s hoping for a meeting between Barcelona and Juventus at some point in the Champions League.

There’s a chance of that happening this season after both clubs progressed to the knockout stage of the competition.

Awaiting Barcelona in the round of 16 is French outfit Lyon, while Juventus face an enthralling tie against Atletico Madrid.
