It's fair to say that the Kansas City Chiefs outclassed the Indianapolis Colts in every aspect during their 31-11 AFC Divisional Round win yesterday at an Arrowhead Stadium which was covered in snow. The Chiefs were even able to get the better of the Colts in the kicking department, as legendary kicker Adam Vinatieri had a game to forget in what is his 23rd season in the NFL.The 46-year-old is one of the best kickers of all-time, but even the best sometimes make mistakes.Throughout the game, Vinatieri missed the shortest field goal of his career from 23-yards late in the second quarter, as well an extra point as the Colts' loss to the Chiefs in the horrendous weather conditions. He was 97-of-97 on field goal tries from 23 yards and in entering today's game according to ESPN Stats and Info, including games in the playoffs, which makes the miss even more surprising.

Many people on social media were shocked by the future Hall of Famer's missed kick.

However, former Oakland Raiders star Charles Woodson had the best reaction of the night to the missed kick, as he's seen Vinatieri make a key field goal in snowy weather conditions before.

During his playing days with the Raiders, he watched Vinatieri make a 45-yard field goal to force overtime and then a 23-yarder in OT to give the New England Patriots a dramatic AFC Divisional Round win back in 2001 in blizzard-like conditions in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

After the game, the Colts' kicker described what went wrong for him in the missed 23-yard field goal before halftime. He said, via ESPN: "Just didn't get very good footing.

"You need every point that you can in a playoff game, and that one we needed for sure. It's a momentum swing and needing those points going into half and (I) didn't come through for us."

Colts head coach Frank Reich showed sympathy towards Vinatieri following his bad game, as he said: "It was tough conditions out there kicking.

"It was one of those days. It was all three phases. Seems like that was indicative that we were going to make a mistake like that in all three phases. We certainly had it there as well."

While the Colts' season is now over, it's unclear if we have also seen the last of Vinatieri in the NFL. He will be a free agent this offseason, but he will also be taking some time to relax before making a decision on his future.

He said: "Have a couple little things body-wise that I want to get checked out and make sure we're all good and moving forward. I haven't made a decision yet to be honest with you ... If they want to talk, I'm willing to listen, that's for damn sure."
