Thierry Henry and Monaco have wasted no time in bringing in some senior reinforcements this January.

The Arsenal legend has been crippled by injuries for most of his short reign and has had to turn to youngsters that frankly, are not ready to compete in Ligue 1.

As such, the principality club have already brought in central defender Naldo from Schalke and Cesc Fabregas, with both making their debuts against Marseille last night.

And the pair certainly added something, with Monaco earning a well-deserved 1-1 draw at the Velodrome.

Maxime Lopez had given Marseille the lead, before Belgian midfielder and captain for the night Youri Tielemens equalised before half-time.

The hosts had a Florian Thauvin goal ruled out controversially by VAR, while Tielemens missed a golden chance to win the game in added time after a clever ball from Fabregas.

Nevertheless, it's a priceless point that will certainly give Henry and his squad something to build on.

So how did Fabregas play? Well, after initially struggling in the early stages after a season with very little football in England, the Spaniard really took control and dominated the midfield.

For the first time in a while, Monaco's passing looked crisp and they were a constant threat going forward.

Maybe Chelsea let him go too soon...

Fabregas always looks forward to pass the ball and makes some crucial defensive interventions for Monaco, something Jorginho rarely does.

The 31-year-old made 61 passes in total, notching a completion rate of 90.2%.

Maurizio Sarri has admitted that the Blues are in the market for a Fabregas replacement, with Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes two players heavily linked with Stamford Bridge.

As for Monaco, they are close to announcing a loan deal for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, who recently returned to London after a disastrous stint at Valencia.
