The Los Angeles Chargers learned the hard way yesterday to never doubt the New England Patriots when they're in the playoffs and looking to prove a point.Nevertheless, despite the Patriots clearly being the better team, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers demonstrated frustration towards anything that got in his way throughout the game.New England was able to defeat Los Angeles 41-28 in the AFC Divisional Round at Foxborough as the Chargers' heavily-used cover three zone defense was no match for Tom Brady. It was so badly matched that the Patriots were up 35-7 at halftime.Brady completed 34 of his 44 passes for 343 yards and a touchdown, while his counterpart for the Chargers, Philip Rivers, completed 25 of his 51 passes for 331 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.Rivers didn't get going in the game until late, so his numbers are a bit inflated. In truth though, it was the rest of his teammates on both sides of the ball that let him down.Throughout the game, you could see that this was frustrating him, as several times he was seen shouting at his teammates and whining at officials.

While his behaviour might look bad to someone who never saw the game, it's understandable that he was so frustrated throughout the contest due to the position the Chargers were in for most of it.

Rivers was under pressure by the Patriots on virtually every snap, and his running game was nonexistent. Melvin Gordon only had nine rushing attempts for 15 yards and a touchdown throughout the game.

The Chargers quarterback literally never had a chance all game to make an easy throw.

Thanks to the loss, Rivers is now 0-5 in games played in Foxborough, including 0-3 in the postseason. He has a 1-8 record against New England overall.

As the seasons go on, it looks more and more likely that Rivers ends his career in the NFL joining the ranks of many great quarterbacks that have never won a Super Bowl.
