Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United survived their first real test over the weekend.

They took a trip to Wembley on Sunday to face Tottenham, with many favouring the home team ahead of kick-off.

Yet, it was Solskjaer's side who were victorious, leaving London with all three points.

Much of the talk post-match has surrounded David de Gea, who was sensational in goal for United.

The Spain international made 11 saves during the game - a personal record, denying the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.

He scooped the Man of the Match award, but of course, United needed someone to put the ball in the net at the other end too - and Marcus Rashford did just that.

The young striker made his mark moments before half-time, latching onto a Paul Pogba pass, before firing past Hugo Lloris from a tight angle.

Thanks to De Gea's heroics at the other end, one goal was all the Manchester club needed - and according to Jesse Lingard, Rashford was more than prepared to take it when the opportunity came.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

That's because the Spurs match came off the back of four days of intense finishing practice for the England striker, who has been working in one-on-one sessions with boss Solskjaer himself.

"Throughout the training session in Dubai he’s been practicing his finishing with the manager," Lingard revealed, per the Evening Standard

"It’s prepared him for big games and moments like that."

Rashford has now scored four goals in five starts under the guidance of his new boss, which is the kind of form that he struggled to match during Jose Mourinho's tenure.

It just goes to show how much of an impact Solskjaer is having on his United team.

He's offering personal sessions to help improve his young striker, as well as bringing the joy back for everyone else on the team with six wins from six games.
