Manchester United’s trip to Tottenham was being dubbed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first test as interim manager.

In his five previous games in charge, Solskjaer had led his former club to wins over Cardiff (5-1), Huddersfield (3-1), Bournemouth (4-1), Newcastle (2-0) and Reading in the FA Cup (2-0).

Many fans and pundits argued that those are the sort of games United should be winning - despite them not doing so under Jose Mourinho.

But if Solskjaer could make it six wins out of six at Wembley, there could surely be no doubting his work.

Well, he did just that thanks to a 1-0 victory.

However, many fans and pundits are still unconvinced thanks to the nature of the win.

The Red Devils relied on a sensational performance from David de Gea to keep Spurs out and give them a six consecutive victory.

But what did Solskjaer do tactically to get the victory?

Well, a tactical analysis video from the Spurs win has emerged and it proves that Solskjaer deserves an enormous amount of credit for the win.

YouTuber Nouman points out how Rashford has been used mostly as an out-and-out striker by the Norwegian.

However, he was shifted to the right wing when United had the ball at Wembley.

That allowed Anthony Martial, on the left, to exploit the space Kieran Trippier often left behind, while Rashford exploited the space Ben Davies left.

And it worked to perfection in the 44th-minute as Rashford took advantage of Davies behind too far up the pitch and finished past Hugo Lloris.

The video goes on to examine Paul Pogba’s role under Solskjaer and how he has been given much more freedom.
