Callum Hudson-Odoi has become embroiled in one of the January transfer window's biggest sagas.Despite entering 2019 as a player on the fringe of Chelsea's starting XI, the pure talent of the Englishman has seen him become a major target for none other than Bayern Munich. The German champions have openly admitted their interest in Hudson-Odoi and have launched a number of bids - eventually totalling over £30 million - to try and secure his signature.Despite claims in the Daily Mail that a buy-back and sell-on clause had been agreed between the clubs, it seems there is yet to be a major breakthrough for Bayern.Perhaps the biggest conundrum is Hudson-Odoi himself who has given little indication of whether he would prefer to fight on at Chelsea or try his luck in the Bundesliga.

Hudson-Odoi speculation

Besides, players like Ademola Lookman, Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson have shown the benefits of a young Englishman plying their trade in Germany.

Maurizio Sarri has publicly expressed his desire for Hudson-Odoi to stay and even granted him more game-time, but ultimately the decision will be left to the 18-year-old himself.

And it seems Chelsea fans were given their biggest indication yet on Monday night, having spotted some interesting Instagram activity from Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi's Instagram story

The social media activity of professional footballers is very closely monitored in the modern day and any manner of engagement can be detected by supporters.

That was certainly the case when Hudson-Odoi uploaded to his Instagram story, seemingly posting about the Bayern Munich rumours that have tailed him all month.

The 18-year-old simply wrote: 'Don't always believe what you hear,' before quickly deleting the story just a few minutes later.

However, he didn't avoid the screenshots of Chelsea fans and many believe it was Hudson-Odoi raising two fingers to claims that he was leaving Stamford Bridge.

We'll let you be the judge - so check out the post and reaction below:

It has to be referencing the Bayern rumours, surely?

Footballers have been known to lose their temper with newspaper reports in the past and it seems as if Hudson-Odoi has become sick and tired of the speculation.

Of course, there is a chance it could be linked to something completely unrelated but his decision to delete the post will only inspire more reaction from Chelsea fans.

The general understanding had been that Hudson-Odoi probably favoured a move away yet the post - if it's proven to be related - seems to suggest the exact opposite.

That and the fact it would be highly unlikely that the player would publicly imply that journalists were getting it wrong and that he actually fancied a Chelsea exit.

One thing is for sure, though - the speculation will last far longer than his Instagram story did.
