It's been a long time since WWE fans have seen Kevin Owens in the ring, and fans might be shocked to see how he looks now after a couple of months away from the action.

Owens has been away from a WWE ring since the start of October when he was attacked by Bobby Lashley on the first Monday Night Raw after Super Show-Down, where he teamed up with Elias against Lashley and John Cena.

At the time, The Prizefighter needed legitimate time off for double knee surgery, so he was written off TV following an attack by Lashley, with WWE telling fans Owens had suffered injuries to both knees.

The former Universal Champion hasn't been seen in the WWE since, but the company has played video packages over the past couple of weeks to suggest his return is imminent.

When Owens does return to the WWE though, fans might be surprised by how he looks today following the injury layoff.

In a recently uploaded picture on social media, The Prizefighter appears to have lost a significant amount of weight as he prepares to return to the ring from double knee surgery.

Owens had appeared at the Cavalcade of Customs event in Cincinnati this past Friday and signed autographs for fans when the picture was taken.

As previously mentioned, WWE recently aired a "coming soon" promo for Owens' ring return but there's no word yet on when he will be back.

There's speculation that The Prizefighter could be one of the surprise entrants in the men's Royal Rumble match later this month on January 27 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

He'll likely receive a big pop if he does as he's still widely considered a fan-favourite amongst the WWE Universe.

As for who Owens could feud with once he returns, the obvious candidate would be Lashley since he's the superstar responsible for putting him on the shelf storyline-wise.

Owens himself teased last night coming after Lashley upon his return, as he posted a picture of himself with the Intercontinental Championship from his run with the title.

Lashley, of course, defeated Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a triple threat this week on Raw to win the Intercontinental title, so Owens vs Lashley could be what WWE has planned for the title at WrestleMania this year.
