Another weekend of scintillating Premier League football left Manchester United fans questioning if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer really is Sir Alex Ferguson in disguise.

The Norwegian's side managed to grind out a 1-0 victory against Tottenham at Wembley, making it six wins in a row for the interim manager.

Elsewhere, Arsenal slipped up away to West Ham 1-0, with a certain Hammers youngster - who will be mentioned a little later - bagging the solitary goal.

Meanwhile, there were wins for Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea while Burnley somehow managed to beat lowly Fulham without a single shot on target.

We all have our opinions on who were the star players of the weekend but the stats do not lie.

Here are five players who performed best according to Fantasy Premier League.

5. GKP - David de Gea / Manchester United (12 points)

You're probably asking yourself why the Spaniard is not higher up on the list.

Well, the Spaniard couldn't have done much more but unfortunately, it is very difficult for a goalkeeper to accumulate more points than an outfield player.

The United stopper's 11 saves in the second half against Tottenham was the most of any goalkeeper in the whole of 90 mins so far this season.

De Gea's performances have seemingly improved like many of United players have under Solskjaer, heaping further criticism on Mourinho's man-management.

4. DEF - Lucas Digne / Everton (12 points)

Digne just pips de Gea into fourth due to the fact that the Everton defender's overall points score of 87 supercedes the United 'keeper's 74.

The ex-Barcelona man has settled into Merseyside life quicker than expected and is already an essential component of Marco Silva's side.

Digne added another assist against Bournemouth meaning he has now directly contributed to six league goals for Everton this season already equalling his best-ever tally in a domestic campaign.

3. FWD - Gabriel Jesus / Manchester City (13 points)

Despite some injury problems and limited game-time, Gabriel Jesus has bagged four goals in the last three games he has started.

His brace against Wolves on Monday night puts him nicely positioned in the middle of this list.

The 21-year-old Brazilian was a threat throughout and capitalised on Willy Boly's early dismissal for Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

City fans have been waiting for the youngster to kick on and maybe with a clean bill of health, the second half of the season could grant the Citizens' faithful there wish.

2. DEF - Kurt Zouma / Everton (13 points)

The Frenchman on-loan from Chelsea has impressed for the Toffees under Marco Silva and displayed once again why he could be a part of Chelsea's future with a professional performance against Bournemouth.

Zouma bagged his first goal for the club with a powerful header and then helped protect Everton's commanding lead with centre-back partner Michael Keane.

Displays such as this will surely increase the measly 0.3% of fantasy players who currently have the 24-year-old in their line-up.

1. DEF - Declan Rice / West Ham United (15 points)

The boyhood dream came true for Declan Rice on Saturday afternoon after the 19-year-old scored his first goal for West Ham and the winner against Arsenal.

An added bonus for the youngster is that he also tops the list for points scored at the weekend.

Rice actually played 31 times for the Hammers last year but has got more press attention and media exposure from Saturday's performance than any other.

His goal, a clean sheet as well as a man of the match performance earnt him an impressive 15 points, in what was a fine days work.

Expect to see more fantasy players snap up the London-born Irishman at a bargain price of £4.4 million.
