Conor McGregor has joined in with the ’10-year challenge’ which is going viral on social media, and has called it ‘five titles later’.The Irishman has had quite a busy 10 years in the not only mixed martial arts, but also the boxing world too.McGregor’s rise to the top after such small beginnings in Ireland is truly inspiring, as he now is one of the most affluent sports personalities out there.His career started at the Cage of Truth 2 where he made his MMA debut at 19.Ten years down the line, McGregor wins the featherweight and lightweight titles in Cage Warriors and the UFC.His career really picked up after he beat hall of famer Jose Aldo, and it was his mind games that arguably won him the fight and how the fans of the UFC fell in love with him. The 13-second knockout changed his career forever.His fight promoting was a skill of his, and he became a very likeable fighter in the UFC.His fights with Nate Diaz at 170 pounds proved to be his limit as a fighter as he lost his first fight in the UFC, however, he returned at lightweight, beating Nate Diaz in a bloodied and gruelling contest.His rematch with Nate broke paper-view-records in UFC history selling 1,650,000 buys.McGregor wasn’t stopping there as he targeted the 155 lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for his belt to become the first ever two-weight world champion in the UFC.He defeated Alvarez with ease, finishing him off in the second roundMcGregor then looked to become king of the fighting world and his way of becoming that was defeating the undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather at his own sport.Fans will agree this is the most Conor McGregor act, but he certainly didn’t disappoint representing MMA.

He lasted 10 rounds with Mayweather and made a great account of himself and the UFC.

He was now a world superstar in sport and one of the most talked about stars on the planet.

On his return to the UFC, a match-up with the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov was his next stint.

Khabib was a rival to his UFC throne and he looked set to diminish him at UFC 229.

As we knew, Conor was and still is a showman, and this fight became hatred after Khabib appeared to slap McGregor’s training partner Artem Lobov, and Conor retaliated by attacking the bus which had Khabib on board.

His fight wasn’t meant to be with Khabib as he was submitted and mauled by the Russian, however, his head is still held high knowing he is the money man in the UFC and he has the spirit of a true fighting legend.

On his return in 2019, Conor wants a rematch with Khabib, but UFC president Dana White has confirmed the pair will fight others before they encounter again.
