Unai Emery is getting his first true taste of what it is like to be manager of Arsenal football club with some fans already questioning some of the Spaniard's decisions.
The Gunners currently sit in fifth position, level on points with a resurged Manchester United who are now only behind on goal difference.
The January transfer window has been one of obscurity for Arsenal, due to Aaron Ramsey's ongoing pre-contract rumours with Juventus swirling as well as Mesut Ozil's current predicament.
The German has had an unusual season, with the midfielder's mysterious injury problems preventing him from playing taking the headlines the majority of the time.
Emery has also added to scepticism, claiming that he had excluded Ozil from the squad because of 'tactical' reasons and more recently even went as far to say that Ozil did not deserve to be playing.
The 30-year-old has posted on Instagram which could be construed as an indirect message to Emery claiming that he is 100% percent and able to play.
However according to the Mirror, Ozil along with his teammates are unsure if Emery will pick the £350,000 a week playmaker for Saturday's match against Chelsea.
The Arsenal boss did not fill fans with much hope either after he made these comments in a recent press conference.
"I've spoken to him because I want consistency. He's had some injuries and these injuries mean that sometimes he is okay and sometimes he isn't OK.
"I want every player to give the same work everyday to be OK for every match. With Mesut it's the same," Emery added.
"He didn't play the last matches but to me he's just like any other player.
"This Saturday he can be with us if he's OK. Now? He's training consistently with his work over the past two weeks and I think he can be."
These comments do not imply that Emery is confident that Ozil will feature and the longer this goes on surely the more likely it seems that Ozil is on borrowed time at the club.
Is the German trying to convince the fans and fellow players he will feature at the weekend with his Instagram post, or trying to convince himself?News Now - Sport News
