The ongoing debate for who the best goalkeeper is of this era throws up a number of tasty candidates.

Manchester United's David de Gea has been on the lips of many British football fans, especially those in Manchester and has earnt that right after being named the club's Player of the Year four times in a row.

Jan Oblak, Alisson Becker and Marc-Andre ter Stegen have also been mentioned in what has been a great decade of goalkeepers.

One German goalkeeper in particular who has been at the top of the game ever since he joined Bayern Munich from Schalke back in 2011, is Manuel Neuer.

Now 32, the sweeper 'keeper had just started to have his doubters claiming that his best was firmly behind him and stoppers like de Gea had surpassed him.

And after Germany's disappointing World Cup as well as a series of injury problems for Neuer, those claims looked to have become a fact.

However, Neuer showed us football fans in Bayern's latest Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim that he's still got it and got it in abundance.

His reflex stop to prevent Hoffenheim grabbing what would have been a vital equaliser in Bayern's 3-1 win, has no doubt made fans stop and think once again about who is the best.

Not only was it a fantastic stop but it was also a must-win game for Bayern with Borussia Dortmund currently storming the division, currently three points clear with a game in hand over there arch-rivals.

If Neuer can keep producing stops like this, then he will remain in the conversation for greatest goalkeeper until he decides he can no longer continue playing.

That will be a sad day for all football fans, but thankfully is a few years away yet.
