Paul Pogba has looked like a different player since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived at Manchester United.

The French midfielder is currently enjoying his finest run of form since returning to the club in 2016.

He’s scored four goals and assisted the same number in the five matches that he’s played under Solskjaer.

Pogba’s relationship with Jose Mourinho was fractured but the smile hasn’t left his face since being reunited with the Norwegian.

“Before the coach arrived I was in the shadows, on the bench, and I accepted that,” the 25-year-old said, per The Guardian.

“It is a pleasure to play again. Now I am always smiling.

“It's a pleasure to be reunited with him.”

Pogba can match a Ronaldo record

Man United fans expected this level of performance when the club paid £89 million to re-sign Pogba from Juventus.

But they probably didn’t expect he would ever be on the verge of matching a record set by Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

Pogba has scored braces in each of his two previous home matches - against Huddersfield and Bournemouth - and if he scores twice against Brighton on Saturday, he will match Ronaldo as the only Man United players to score at least twice in three consecutive home Premier League games, per the Manchester Evening News.

Ronaldo made history when he bagged braces in consecutive matches at Old Trafford against West Ham, Hull and Stoke in 2008.

And he could be joined in the record books by Pogba.

The Red Devils will attempt to win their seventh straight match when they take on Chris Hughton’s side and Pogba believes the task of winning has become easier since Solskjaer adjusted the tactics.

“The way we are playing we have more possession of the ball. We know more where to attack and where to go. We have more of a pattern of play and more of a structure," Pogba told Sky Sports News.

"That makes it easier for everyone.”
