Chelsea’s top-four hopes suffered a blow on Saturday evening after they slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal, who move back into fifth place in the Premier League table but remain level on points with Manchester United.Maurizio Sarri’s side went into the half-time break 2-0 down following first-half goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny. It was no less than the Gunners deserved. Their form has been patchy of late but they showed here that they are heading in the right direction under Unai Emery.Chelsea, like Arsenal right now, are very much a work in progress with Sarri at the helm.Their form has also been rather unconvincing in recent weeks - they’ve suffered defeats against Leicester City, Tottenham and now Arsenal since December 22 - and it will be interesting to see which players are brought in before the transfer window closes. One player expected to come in over the coming days is Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentina international is set to replace Alvaro Morata, who is poised to join Atletico Madrid on loan.Another Chelsea player linked with a move in recent weeks is Brazilian winger Willian, who divides opinion among the Stamford Bridge faithful.Barcelona attempted to sign the 30-year-old earlier this month, according to the Telegraph, submitting an eyebrow-raising cash-plus-player deal. It’s understood Barça offered Chelsea the services of Malcom, with the overall value of the deal worth around £50 million.Chelsea, however, rejected the rather generous offer. It seems they have no desire to see Willian leave west London. The club’s fans, however, are just about done with the Brazilian after the comically bad shot he produced on the stroke of half-time at the Emirates Stadium.Watch it here…

Dear oh dear, the ball actually went out for a throw.

A player of his calibre should be doing much better in that position. You’ll see that kind of effort up and down the country from Sunday League forwards this weekend.

As you can probably imagine, Chelsea fans - many of whom lost faith in Willian a while ago - were less than impressed on social media…
