American boxer Adrien Broner had a night to forget as he squared off against Manny Pacquiao for the WBA [Regular] welterweight title in Las Vegas on Saturday.

He was outclassed and outperformed by the Filipino legend throughout, which was validated in the score as well, with all three judges scoring the bout 117-111, 116-112, 116-112 via unanimous decision in favour of Pacquiao.

But, Broner couldn’t accept the defeat and conducted himself in the most unprofessional manner during the post-fight interview with Showtime’s Jim Grey.

The American started by saying: “I beat him, everybody out there know I beat him.

“I controlled the fight, he was missing. I hit him clean more times. I beat him.”

Grey quickly corrected him by providing the stats which clearly revealed the eight-division world champion to be the winner.

Pacquiao landed 112 of 568 punches, while Broner managed to connect 50 of his 295 attempts.

The veteran sportscaster informed Broner that he never landed more than eight punches in any of the 12 rounds.

In reply, Broner accused Grey of biasness, later stating there is a conspiracy against him.

“It already sounds like you was against me, so I already ain’t got a fair shake talking to you,” added the 29-year-old.

“What they’re trying to do is, they’re trying to get that money again with Pacquiao and Floyd, but it’s cool. I ain’t worried about it.”

The interviewer, then, asked him: “You’re 3-3-1 in your last seven fights. What will you do next?”

Broner, in a deluded tone, answered: “I’m 3-3-1 in my last seven, but I’d be 7-0 against you.”

Gray concluded the interview saying: “Well that wouldn’t mean much. That’s the end of this interview.”

Broner exited the ring for the dressing room amidst the boos of the crowd present at the venue.

He has to come to terms with the reality, and experts feel when Broner himself would analyse the fight after watching the tapes later, he would certainly have a different perspective thereafter.
