Professional footballers travelling in public can be pretty risky business.Last September, Manchester United players were confronted by an angry passenger as they prepared to board a train following a 2-1 win against Watford.“These people are no better than I am. I’ll f****** go where I want,” the passenger said in a video that quickly spread on social media.Of course, not every person that spots a footballer, or a group of them, is eager to make a scene. But you can understand why some players would rather not mix with the public.Yet the incident with the passenger at Watford Junction hasn’t prevented Man United players from taking public transport. The latest story, which is going viral on social media, is much funnier.Football fan and Esports commentator Nate Patrick has shared a tale on Twitter of his parents meeting Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic on a train - and not realising who they were.

Chance meeting with Pogba and Matic

“MY PARENTS ARE ON A TRAIN WITH THE ENTIRE MANCHESTER UNITED SQUAD AND THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE BECAUSE OF COURSE THEY DON’T,” one of the messages in the thread reads.

Pogba has plenty of reasons to smile right now following his resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The French midfielder made it five goals in six matches with the opener in Man United’s 2-1 win against Brighton on Saturday.

The win was Solskjaer’s seventh in all competitions and the Red Devils are now very much in the running for a top four finish.

Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal leaves United three points behind the Blues and there’s still a great deal of football to play.

“If we keep this momentum going, the train keeps rolling and we get loads of points on board, hopefully that will take us up the table,” Solskjaer assessed, per Man United’s website.
