Ring rope breaks during Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles match at WWE live event

The rivalry between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles for the WWE Championship has been going on now for a couple of months, and the two are always finding ways to keep their feud fresh.

With the WWE Champion and The Phenomenal One being two of the best superstars in the company right now, they know how to react when things don't exactly go to plan in the middle of the ring.

A prime example of just that situation happened occurred during a SmackDown live event over this past weekend.

Bryan and Styles faced off for the WWE title at a live event in Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday night. During the match, the middle rope broke, causing a stoppage.

To entertain the fans during the stoppage, The Phenomenal One grabbed a microphone and cut a short promo on the WWE Champion.

He said, via Wrestling Inc: "Hold on now, it looks like I've had too many delicious Omaha steaks! But Daniel, you wouldn't know anything about that, would ya? That's alright, I don't need this middle rope to kick your ass."

Both Bryan and Styles would then whip each other with the rope at different points in the match.

On this week's SmackDown as well, Vince McMahon himself will moderate a face-to-face meeting between the two superstars after the two have clashed outside the ring in arena concourses on the show over the past two weeks.

This won't be the only time Bryan and Styles will face each other this month in the ring, as the two are set to face one another this weekend at the Royal Rumble for the WWE title.

It will be interesting to see what booking direction WWE takes for the WWE Championship after the Royal Rumble as we enter WrestleMania season and if the Rumble winner will challenge for the title.

As of writing, Bryan is currently favourite to leave the Royal Rumble still as WWE Champion, which will most likely bring an end to his feud with The Phenomenal One.
