Philippe Coutinho's transfer to Barcelona hasn't been the dream move he anticipated.

Many considered him the long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta and the Blaugrana forked out £146 million for his services, making him the third most expensive player in history.

Things started well for the Brazilian, scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances during the backend of 2017-18 and even helping himself to a hat-trick against Levante.

However, it's been downhill for Coutinho since the summer with Ousmane Dembele rising above him in the pecking order and his goal involvement taking a downward turn.

A full 90 minutes against Leganes on Monday night did little to change popular opinion either, encouraging plenty of Barcelona fans to vent their frustration on Twitter.

Criticism for Coutinho

Spanish football journalist David Cartlidge even tweeted after the game: “Another frustrating, rather pointless performance from Coutinho.

"Dreadful decision making at every single turn. Most worrying is he doesn't really have the look of someone keen to change his current situation.”

Very strong words indeed and it's been accompanied by reports suggesting Coutinho could leave the club, especially if his predicament doesn't change before the summer.

Barcelona fan's Coutinho tribute

However, it certainly seems like Barcelona fans have his back in the long-term, with many placing the blame on Ernesto Valverde as opposed to the player himself.

That's certainly the attitude of YouTuber 'Henrik Lehmann' who is trying to change opinion about Coutinho's spell in Catalonia.

Ahead of the Leganes game, he compiled a tribute video to the 26-year-old and fittingly titled it: "Philippe Coutinho - Prove Them Wrong | 2019."

Transitioning from some of his worst moments of the season into his highlights at Barcelona so far, Coutinho himself should probably give it a watch. Take a look at the video below:

A great video and it has plenty of fans emotional.

The comments section was quickly filled with Barcelona supporters hoping Coutinho can turn things around and reach his potential before it's too late.

One fan accumulating over 100 'likes' for writing: "For me...it pains me, that beautiful, beautiful, smile has disappeared completely from his face..... But I still believe hell bounce back."

Other comments included: "Bro this video gonna make me cry," and "Barca please don't sell this mann."

So, frustrated mid-game tweets aside, it seems like Coutinho has the full backing of Barcelona fans and be sure to check out more of the reaction here.

For such a talented player as Coutinho, it's definitely bizarre to see him struggling so much and something will have to change before the end of the season.

Who knows, perhaps a good old tribute video like the above could be the trick.
