Liverpool find themselves top of the Premier League largely thanks to their incredible defensive record this season. Before their clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp’s side had conceded just 10 goals in their 22 league games so far this season. So, the idea of Palace going to Anfield and scoring three times seemed pretty far-fetched.But that’s exactly what happened on Saturday afternoon.Unfortunately for the Eagles, though, Liverpool managed to score four and take all three points.Andros Townsend had given the away side a first-half lead. However, within eight minutes of the restart, Liverpool were ahead thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. It was normal service resumed and Liverpool started enjoying themselves once again. In fact, it seems that they were maybe enjoying themselves a little bit too much.Shortly after Firmino had given the home side the lead, Liverpool won a throw in their own half.

Van Dijk must have been hanging around with Firmino for too long...

LIVERPOOL FANS ENJOYED IT

We’re not quite sure why he did it but Liverpool fans were laughing at the Dutchman’s actions.

Five minutes later, Van Dijk needed to rally his teammates once again as James Tomkins equalised with a header from a corner.

But Salah notched his second 10 minutes later before Sadio Mane made it 4-2 in injury-time.

There was still time for Max Meyer to pull another back for Palace but Liverpool held on to ensure they still remain slight favourites to win the title.

We probably wouldn't advise Van Dijk to continue his no-look throw-in technique as we enter the climax of the Premier League title race, though...
