Finn Balor will have the biggest match of his WWE career this weekend at the Royal Rumble, and in situations like this, it usually means The Demon comes out to play.

Balor will face off against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble.

In the past for huge title matches, the former Universal Champion has brought out his demon gimmick, which has usually resulted in him winning the match.

Due to this fact, you would think Balor would be bringing out the demon inside of him at the Royal Rumble this weekend.

However, during an interview with ESPN.com's Tim Fiorvanti, Balor revealed that this won't be the case despite the occasion.

The Demon King explained that he doesn't want to lean on the demon to achieve success in the WWE. Instead, he'd rather achieve success as Finn Balor.

He said: "I feel like maybe I leaned on the demon too much there in the past as a crutch, and I can assure you that the man who faces Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble will be Finn Balor, the man.

"I think a lot of people were surprised when I came out at WrestleMania not in demon paint but I feel like I had a bigger message to spread that day—one of equality and acceptance.

"Honestly, this match just kind of came about so fast that I haven't had much time to think about it. I don't have any new gear, I don't have any new looks, I don't have any new ideas right now, but you know, we're still six days away, so I'm sure I'll come up with something."

WWE fans haven't seen The Demon for a couple of months.

The former universal champion hasn't used the demon persona since SummerSlam last August when he faced off against Baron Corbin and dispatched him with ease.

Fans will be hoping Balor is able to defeat Lesnar this weekend without the help of The Demon, but if he isn't able to, then there's at least a stronger chance he is called upon sooner rather than later.
