You know you’re in store for an entertaining 90 minutes of Premier League football when you see Mike Dean lead the two teams out of the tunnel.
Unintentionally or not, the 50-year-old match official is pure Box Office.
Dean, who was appointed to the Select Group of referees back in 2000 and took charge of the FA Cup final eight years later, clearly relishes the big occasions - and the limelight.
In fairness to Dean, he’s one of the few Premier League referees who doesn’t take any nonsense from the players.
There are match officials - naming no names - who sometimes look overawed, and even a little intimidated, when they’re confronted by a big-name star.
This categorically does not apply to Deano, who will happily give any footballer a look of utter contempt if they cross the line, regardless of their status.
He’s certainly not everybody’s cup of tea - it’s fair to assume he probably has more haters than fans - but one thing’s for sure: the Premier League wouldn’t be the same without him.
Soccer AM have compiled a 90-second video of Dean’s best moments in recent years and it’s a brilliant watch.
It’s been re-uploaded by @gunnerblog on Twitter and received over 5,000 retweets and 20,000 ‘likes’.
Perhaps Deano is more popular with football fans than we thought.

If anything, the footage reminds us all that we should appreciate the genius of Dean while he’s still with us.
Born in 1968, even the indefatigable Dean can’t go on forever.
And when the fateful day he finally hangs up his whistle comes around, the Premier League will be a much poorer place without him.
