UFC Light-Heavyweight champion Jon Jones has once again had steroid metabolites show up in a drug test stemming from UFC 232.Having also failed a test prior to the fight with Alexander Gustafsson, the fight had to be moved from Las Vegas to Los Angeles just to allow him to gain a licence to fight. The trace amounts of Turinabol were only minute, but are enough for the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency to be interested in his coming samples. This new sample was taken on December 28 last year at the weigh-ins before the UFC 232 bout with Gustafsson, which Jon Jones went on to win.Now with two failed tests from the fight, the rumours about Jones will surely be swirling. The fight was allowed to continue following the first fail because his team successfully argued that the metabolites were left over from the last time he was banned for steroid use.Jones was banned following a UFC 214 victory over Daniel Cormier when the M3 metabolite was found in his samples and led to a 15-month ban.Speaking to MMAFighting, Andy Foster, the executive director of California's State Athletic Commission has released the following statement on the issue of the new sample.“I spoke with the scientists, they stand by their original statement. Nothing has changed. We’ve already punished Jon Jones for the M3 metabolite, which is a long-term metabolite. There’s no grounds to charge somebody twice for the same violation.”Once again, Jon Jones seems to have kept his belt by the skin of his teeth, but the fighter wasn't sounding phased when asked about it on Twitter. When asked by a fan about the situation, the Light-Heavyweight champion only had this to say:“Please don’t feel sorry for me, all is well in the Jones camp. Not giving an ounce of energy to things that are out of my control.”

If nothing changes, Jon Jones will be facing new division contender Anthony Smith at UFC 235.
