Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 100% start to life as Manchester United manager continued as his side defeated Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
After a drab first 25 minutes, a moment of magic from Romelu Lukaku saw United open the scoring.
The Belgian forward cut inside and played a lovely reverse ball to Alexis Sanchez, who rounded Petr Cech and converted into an empty net.
United then made it two just a few minutes later, with Lukaku then being the provider again.
A swift counter-attack saw Lukaku square the ball to Jesse Lingard, who showed composure to pass the ball past Cech.
Arsenal halved the deficit just before half-time when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang prodded home.
However, the home side could not find another way past Sergio Romero, and United made the game safe when Anthony Martial converted with eight minutes left of normal time.
Despite the result, it was a less than convincing performance from United; especially in defence.
United looked vulnerable at the back, with Luke Shaw getting a lot of criticism for his performance.
United have a lot of important ties coming up; with the Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain being one of their biggest of the season.
Barring injury, PSG will field Kylian Mbappe, one of the world’s most talented players.
Mbappe is known for terrorising defenders with his electric pace and, after seeing Shaw’s performance against Arsenal, many United fans are now fearing the worst ahead of the tie.
It’s fair to say they don’t have too much confidence in Shaw’s ability to nullify the threat of Mbappe…
It’s two weeks until United host PSG in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Fans of the Manchester club will no doubt be hoping Shaw is able to raise his game on that night...
