It seems that at least once a year the rumours surrounding Dolph Ziggler's exit from the WWE remerge.

Unfortunately for Ziggler, we're only one month into 2019 and the same speculation has been circulating for weeks.

RUMOUR MILL

Although on previous occasions it's turned out to be false, this time it seems to be slightly different as it sounds like the WWE doesn't want the former World Heavyweight Champion to compete inside of the ring at all but want to keep him in the company.

It's always been a sad case for Ziggler the majority of fans still believe to this day that he's been heavily underutilised and misused throughout his career.

On the other hand, we also hear criticism from fans that claim Ziggler is overrated, but that may not be an argument moving forward if the latest rumours are to be believed.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has pitched an idea to Ziggler asking him to stop wrestling and transition into a backstage producer role instead.

Dave Meltzer of the Observer wrote: "He signed a new contract last year and there is talk they want to take him out of the ring and make him a producer, and he’s been off television the past few weeks."

Right now, it's not clear if Ziggler will be seen on WWE programming again. The reason behind this is that Ziggler still hasn't been advertised for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Sunday night.

PRODUCER

In another big twist, PW Insider recently reported that WWE had already made the producer offer to Ziggler, but the former Money in the Bank winner turned that down and it's now why many are believing that this time he could finally be on his way out of WWE.

Ziggler has always remained ambiguous when it comes to his future in the WWE, especially since he tends to play up to the mystery surrounding his future on social media.

The company was in somewhat of a similar situation last year with Ziggler returning as the final entrant in the Royal Rumble match.

However, with these rumours now going around, it looks unlikely that WWE is going to put more importance on somebody they would rather have in a backstage role.
