Gonzalo Higuain's move to Chelsea has sent ripples through the transfer market.

After the striker moved from AC Milan to London, he was instantly replaced by Krzysztof Piatek who arrived at the San Siro days later.

It's now expected that out-of-form Blues striker Alvaro Morata will be leaving Stamford Bridge due to Higuain's arrival.

Maurizio Sarri is expected to favour the Argentine striker over both Morata and Olivier Giroud, given that he was desperate for the club to secure his services in January.

There's very little chance that Chelsea's Spanish striker will be happy sitting on the bench behind the new arrival, especially after he arrived for around £60 million less than two years ago.

With Sarri's move for Higuain being made clear from the first week of the winter transfer window, there's been plenty of speculation about where Morata could be headed.

MORATA MOVING AWAY?

Some reports suggested he was close to joining Sevilla, but that failed to materialise and instead, it looks like he could be set to return to Spain.

Atletico Madrid are now the favourites to sign the 26-year-old on-loan, which would see him return to a city that he knows very well from his time at Real Madrid.

There's no doubt that Morata has the potential to be one of Europe's top strikers, but he's failed to show that under Sarri and now it looks like he'll need to prove himself at another club.

However, if he does move to Atletico it appears that he won't be welcomed by everyone, given his history in Spain.

During Saturday's fixture between Madrid and Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano, a section of the home crowd, led by the Atletico 'ultras', were heard chanting anti-Morata chants.

AGAINST HIS SIGNING

"Less Morata, more Borja Garces," they were heard shouting on a number of occasions, according to Spanish publication AS.

Garces, the other player they're chanting about has recently made his debut for Diego Simeone's side, after being called up from Madrid's B team this season.

Clearly, he's highly regarded by Atletico fans and some would rather see the 19-year-old play instead of Morata.

It should also be noted that these chants were met with boos and whistles from other sections of the crowd - so it seems that Morata's move is already dividing Atletico fans, and it hasn't even happened yet.
