Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the Midas touch as Manchester United manager right now.
Having taken caretaker charge after the dismissal of Jose Mourinho, the club legend has gone on to win his first eight games and has broken a number of records at Old Trafford.
No United manager has ever won so many games on the bounce since taking the job and Solskjaer is now one victory clear of the legendary Sir Matt Busby.
There were originally plenty of doubters when Solskjaer claimed wins over Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town, Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Reading.
But there was no doubting United's quality when they took all three points from Tottenham Hotspur and backed that up by knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup.
Solskjaer makes perfect start
Not only has Solskjaer encouraged a more positive environment at the club and attacking brand of football, but he is securing results against a wide range of opponents.
As a result, the on-loan Molde coach has thrust himself into the conversation for the permanent role in the summer and plenty of supporters already have their heart set on him taking over.
It means that United fans are starting to establish Ed Woodward's opinion on the matter, especially consider reports that he favoured an approach for Mauricio Pochettino.
Man Utd's current plan
Well, the Mirror have now offered an update on the club's plans for a permanent replacement and it seems they're not allowing Solskjaer's flying start to cloud their judgement.
The report reads: "There is a growing belief among players, fans and staff at United that the Norwegian has now done enough to win the job on a permanent basis.
"But MirrorFootball understands executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and the club’s American owners are in agreement that the decision on Mourinho's successor will be taken over months rather than weeks."
It also reiterates that Pochettino is still heavily favours by those in the boardroom, but the chiefs are more than happy for Solskjaer to continue his 'audition' for the role.
An insider at the club explained: “It is going fantastically well under Ole, but the club is sticking with a process that will not be concluded until the summer.”
Despite Solskjaer's incredible achievements, it seems very sensible for United to keep calm and not get ahead of themselves just one month on from the switch.
Having motored their way through three managers since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, it makes sense for the club to avoid making a knee-jerk decision.
That being said, there are so many positives building up around Solskjaer that he's surely on a trajectory to overtake Pochettino in the pecking order.
United need to feel certain that Solskjaer would be able to sustain the current success over a long period of time but at the moment it's so far, so good.
