It's been a brilliant season for Liverpool so far, with Jurgen Klopp's side topping the Premier League table by four points.

Few could have expected that at this stage as Manchester City were expected to run away with it again.

Last season's run to the Champions League final had made Liverpool most peoples' favourite to challenge, however.

And they've done that in style, not losing a league game until a trip to the Etihad in the New Year.

The biggest change has been in the 'smaller' games, though.

Liverpool, a side known to trip up against sides they should beat, have won every single game against teams outside the top five.

The only teams in the country to have stopped them this season are Chelsea, Arsenal, and City - an incredible record.

And now the Liverpool Echo have asked the fans for their opinion on the season, focused around two questions.

Who has been the most successful signing? And who has been the most disappointing player?

Liverpool brought in four key players last summer who have made a real difference. But according to fans, there's one massive standout.

Alisson Becker won the vote for the signing of the season with a huge 78.9%. Xherdan Shaqiri was second with 11.9% and Fabinho came third with 9.2%.

You might have noticed that there isn't much room left for Liverpool's other signing, Naby Keita.

The Guinean received under 1% of the vote for signing of the season - a tally that's reflected in the voting for the biggest disappointment.

Keita got well over half of the vote for the unwanted award - 62.51%. That certainly wasn't the plan at the start of the season.

He's followed, quite strangely, by Alberto Moreno.

Given that he was written off a year ago and has barely played since, you've got to wonder what 27.69% of fans were expecting from Moreno this season.

Jordan Henderson is third with 7.24%. The captain started the season slowly but has found some great form in recent weeks; coming third in the vote seems very harsh.

Joel Matip follows him with a small 1.81%, although, again it's difficult to know what fans wanted from their fourth choice centre back.

Rounding off the vote is Daniel Sturridge, who has disappointed after a promising start. The forward bagged some vital goals to start the season but fell away badly.

It's been a great season for Liverpool but it hasn't been perfect. Keita, in particular, clearly has some improving to do.
