Ryan Nelsen rounded off an excellent afternoon for Blackburn with his 55th-minute strike as sorry Wolves slumped to the bottom of the Barclays Premier League as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at Ewood Park.

Nelsen poked home from a Morten Gamst Pedersen free-kick to add to first-half strikes from David Dunn and Brett Emerton as Rovers cruised to victory.

Stephen Ward and Ronald Zubar had both hit the woodwork in the first five minutes for Wolves while George Elokobi and Stephen Hunt both missed fine chances late on.
