Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has donated €30,000 to help fund a private search for missing footballer Emiliano Sala.
A Go Fund Me page was set up by French sports agency Sport Cover to help find the former Nantes striker pilot David Ibbotson, who went missing on a private plan travelling to new club Cardiff.
A statement on the GoFundMe page said: “The call for funds launched late Friday afternoon allowed the relatives of Emiliano Sala, via a specialised organisation, to resume research in the Channel early Saturday morning. Two boats conduct the operations.”
The response from the footballing world to the tragic events has been heart-warming, with a number of high-profile stars donating in order to fund the new search.
PSG's Adrien Rabiot also donated a sum of €25,000, with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, with Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Diego Maradona pleading for the search to resume.
Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny and Marseille's Lucas Ocampos are just some of the other names to have offered their financial support to Sala's family.
The Argentine's relatives asked the Football Association to forgo the wearing of black armbands this weekend as Sala has still not been found.
Cardiff, however, will wear yellow daffodils for Tuesday night's game away at Arsenal to honour the missing striker.
With the target now reached and the search set to resume, the footballing world can now watch on and pray that Sala and Ibbotson are found.
