Phlippe Coutinho's performance vs. Girona rated by Marca

Philippe Coutinho was famously craving a move to Barcelona when at Liverpool and despite honouring his duty until January of the 2017/18 season, the Brazilian eventually got his wish going the Catalan giants for £142 million.

Coutinho's performances were rather positive for the remainder of the season with the attacking midfielder bagging eight goals in 18 league games.

The Brazilian's ability to fit into Barca's system so quickly looked rather promising and that even the sizable transfer free appeared to be worth it.

However this campaign has seen a plethora of poor performances from Coutinho, with the 26-year-old looking like a player out of his depth playing for a club with such high expectations.

The confident, flamboyant playmaker that was at Liverpool looks to have been a thing of the past, much to the dismay of Barcelona.

In Barcelona's 2-0 victory over Girona, the Catalonia side arguably had many players than under-performed in what was a frustrating 90 minutes.

But there was one player in particualr who recieved the brunt of the criticism, and you can probably guess who.

Marca, did there usual player ratings as they do after every Barcelona game and although some Barca players recieved a negative review, Coutinho's was the most scathing.

The Spanish paper said this about the former Liverpool star:

"It was yet another worrying performance from the Brazilian, who is looking more and more like a square peg in a round hole, but an expensive one."

Well Marca certainly didn't hold back, but represented the whole of Barcelona's fan base by calling his performance 'worrying' as well as adding a slight dig about the Brazilian's transfer fee.

With the pressure building for Coutinho could a move away from the Spanish side be on the cards?

It's arguable to say that Liverpool didn't really miss Coutinho when he left and there league position at the moment supports that, but with the midfielder clearly unsettled would they take him back?
