Liverpool are reportedly preparing to move for Ipswich wonderkid Connor Wickham.
The 17-year-old striker has been earmarked as a future England great and is being monitored my a number of Premier League clubs as he continues to make great strides in the second tier of English football.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Liverpool will attempt to test Ipswich's resolve by offering £10 million for the teenager as the Reds' owners look to build a squad for the future at Anfield.
Wickham is understood to be a Liverpool fan - citing Fernando Torres as his hero - so is thought to be keen on a switch to Anfield should the opportunity arise.
A deal for Wickham would represent a significant coup for Liverpool and serve as evidence of New England Sports Ventures fulfilling their promise of bringing exceptional young talent to Anfield.
The Liverpool owners have also pledged to keep hold of the Reds' young stars, with England under 21 full-back Martin Kelly and Spanish duo Dani Pacheco and Suso now tied to long-term deals at Anfield.
