There are few more divisive debates in the Premier League than Eden Hazard vs Mohamed Salah.

Whenever the topic is brought up, you can guarantee that Chelsea and Liverpool fans will passionately defender their star players and both groups can often mount convincing arguments.

Many will point out that Hazard has been a success in England for much longer, winning the title on two occasions and collecting the PFA Player of the Year award in 2015.

Meanwhile, Liverpool supporters will highlight how Salah has already bulldozed his way through numerous Premier League records and has laughed off 'one-season wonder' suggestions.

Fans are probably aware that when it comes to goalscoring, Salah holds the upper hand but Hazard tops the podium when you look at assists.

Salah vs Hazard

It would be easy to go around in circles with statistics, so would actually happen when not a single number if left ignored?

Well, that's something that football fans can find out when using Whoscored.com to compare all the data Hazard and Salah have produced in 2018/19.

Collecting numbers across the categories of defensive, offensive, passing and 'summary', it gives fans the most definitive answer possible on the debate. Take a look at the breakdown below.

Summary

Perhaps surprisingly, it's Hazard who takes the victory across the more general statistics. The Chelsea man has produced more assists, Man of the Match awards, has a greater pass success rate and a superior average match rating.

Salah does have the accolade of having scored more goals - 16 to be exact - but it's almost a complete whitewash for his rival here.

Defensive

Neither player is known for their defensive prowess and we're calling a stalemate here. Salah averages more tackles per game and is dribbled past on fewer occasions, while Hazard produces more interceptions and clearances on average.

Offensive

Surely the biggest category of them all but Salah is taken to the cleaners here. The Egyptian is beaten in almost every single data set and we're not sure producing more shots per game is really a positive.

Right, brace yourself. Hazard offers more key passes, successful dribbles, wins more fouls, is found offside less, is dispossessed on few occasions and averages a smaller amount of poor touches.

Passing

We're sorry Liverpool fans, but Salah might as throw in the towel at this point. So, Hazard holds superiority over pass success rate, average total passes, crosses and long balls.

The only consolation for Salah is his greater number of through balls, but we're not convinced that many Kopites are highlighting that victory in the debate.

Stats won't exactly settle the discussions and both sets of fans will continue to disagree, but Hazard absolutely romps to victory when it comes to the numbers.
